‘Probe plutonium pack to watch China’: Uttarakhand Minister on glacier burst

Uttarakhand’s Irrigation minister Satpal Maharaj has said that they will launch a probe into all angles of the glacier burst in the state.

He said that the melting of glaciers was a cause of concern and said that the place plutonium pack placed to monitor China's movement at the borders should also be probed.

We request the government to investigate the pack too,’ the minister said.

He added that a department would be formed under his ministry to monitor glaciers through satellites.

The death toll in the avalanche triggered by the bursting of a glacier in Chamoli has gone up to 58 as a total of 11 bodies are recovered from the Tapovan tunnel.
