Forest fires rage on in central Chile killing at least 99 people over 3 days

Massive forest fires continue to rage in central Chile, leading to extended curfews in affected cities. The famous botanical garden in Vina del Mar has been destroyed, leaving 1,600 people homeless. The death toll has risen to 99, and authorities suspect that some of the fires may have been intentionally started.

Dozens killed in Chile as forest fires rage in densely populated central areas
President Gabriel Boric warned that the death toll could worsen as four large fires burn in the region of Valparaiso, where firefighters have struggled to reach the most threatened neighbourhoods.
