Forest fires rage on in central Chile, killing at least 112 people over 3 days

The fires burned with the highest intensity around the city of Viña del Mar, where a famous botanical garden founded in 1931 was destroyed by the flames Sunday. At least 1,600 people were left without homes. Officials extended curfews in cities most heavily affected by the blazes and said at least 112 people had been killed.

Dozens killed in Chile as forest fires rage in densely populated central areas
President Gabriel Boric warned that the death toll could worsen as four large fires burn in the region of Valparaiso, where firefighters have struggled to reach the most threatened neighbourhoods.
