Putin’s Aide Medvedev’s Warns Ukraine: Oreshnik Missile Use Could Trigger ‘Severe Consequences’

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has warned that the deployment of the Oreshnik missile in Ukraine marks a pivotal shift in the ongoing conflict, with potentially severe consequences.

In an interview with Al Arabiya, Medvedev stated that the missile's use could drastically change the course of Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine.

This missile, fired in retaliation for Western weapons used against Russian territory, has the capability to reach targets across Europe, amplifying the risk of further escalation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin echoed this sentiment, emphasising that the missile’s continued use would depend on security threats to Russia.

Medvedev’s remarks come amid rising tensions over NATO’s involvement and the growing possibility of nuclear escalation in the conflict.
