Early voting for Russian presidential election gets underway in remote communities

Travelling across the frozen Lake Onega in remote northwestern Russia, members of the local electoral commission are taking ballot boxes to isolated communities as early voting takes place in Russia's presidential election.

Current President Vladimir Putin is widely expected to secure another six-year mandate in elections, despite the domestic tumult brought on by Russia's campaign in Ukraine.
