Tim Allen is returning to ABC.
The actor will star in 'Shifting Gears,' a multi camera comedy pilot for the Disney-backed broadcast network.
'Shifting Gears' will see Allen play Matt, a stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop.
When Matt's estranged daughter and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.
Allen formerly starred in 'Last Man Standing,' which was originally developed for ABC and aired six of its nine seasons on the network before moving to Fox.
