On February 6th, the United States military announced that they had conducted a defensive strike against two Houthi drones in Yemen.

This action came in response to a drone attack targeting a base housing US troops in Syria.

According to the US Central Command, American forces detected the presence of explosive unmanned surface vessels (USVs) in areas controlled by the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

These USVs were deemed to pose an imminent threat to US navy ships and merchant vessels operating in the region.

The Central Command emphasised that these measures were taken to safeguard freedom of navigation and enhance the safety of international waters.
