Man wielding crossbow shot dead by Met Police

Police have shot dead a man carrying a crossbow in Surrey Quays.

Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene in south-east London at around 5 o’clock on Tuesday morning, following reports of a man threatening to injure people inside a house on Bywater Place.

An investigation has been launched by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
