In a rapidly evolving situation along the Myanmar-India border, a wave of Myanmar Army personnel fleeing the ongoing conflict has thru-st the region into a state of concern.

Amid the fierce clashes between rebel forces and the junta-regime in Myanmar, nearly 600 Myanmar Army soldiers have sought refuge in India, specifically in Mizoram's Lawngtlai district.

Sources indicate that the soldiers fled after their camps were captured by the Arakan Army (AA), an ethnic armed group operating in the western Myanmar state of Rakhine.
