India at the 2nd Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, strongly condemned Pakistan's recurring misuse of the forum to propagate unsubstantiated and malicious allegations against India.

Petal Gahlot emphasised that member states and international organisations are well aware of Pakistan's strategy, which aimed to divert global attention from its own dismal human rights record.

She reiterated India's stance that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the country, and issues related to these Union Territories are strictly internal matters.
