Minister defends NHS provision after King's Fund report

Health minister Helen Whately says the government will “learn the lessons” of a report by The King's Fund which found the UK performs poorly on healthcare outcomes across several different major disease groups.

The social care minister insists the government is “putting record amounts of funding into our National Health Service” but accepts the NHS has been having a “difficult time” recovering after the Covid-19 pandemic.
