Beginning on March 14, people in France will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination to enter public spaces like restaurants, bars and theaters.

However, unvaccinated people will still need to show proof of recent negative test or recovery to enter hospitals and nursing homes.

While masks remain mandatory on public transit and at health facilities, the mandate has been lifted on schools, business and offices.

.

ABC reports that 92% of France's 67 million people over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated.

The decision to lift mandates comes less than a month before the opening round of France's presidential election on April 10.
