Lampedusa’s fishermen rescue refugees

According to the UN, more than 600 people have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea this year.

The number of migrants attempting to reach the European Union is growing.

Many set out in small boats, mostly from Tunisia or Libya, on the dangerous crossing to the Italian island of Lampedusa.
