Motorists were stranded after a debris from a landslide blocked a mountain road during tropical storm Choi-wan in the Philippines.

Parts of the mountain road collapsed causing traffic jam after an overnight of torrential rain in Davao de Oro province on June 2.

Resident Alldae Tejada was on his bicycle heading home when he was caught in the slow moving traffic in the landslide prone area.

He said: โ€˜The rescuers cleared the road using trucks.

No one seemed to have been hurt but there were several vehicles stranded.โ€™ The landslide affected three of the six lanes of the national highway but the traffic is expected to normalize tomorrow (June 4).

Storm Choi-wan, locally called Dante, made is set to make its ninth landfall tonight (June 3) in the northern Luzon region after trailing across southern Tagalog provinces and leaving three people dead as well as 15 million worth of damage in agriculture.
