Opposition has just 11 MLAs, claims Puducherry CM ahead of floor test
Amid the political crisis in Puducherry and the upcoming mandated floor test on February 22, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said he is in constant touch with Congress and alliance partner DMK MLAs, while also claiming that the opposition has only 11 MLAs with the rest three being nominated MLAs who have no voting rights.
"Several options have been discussed when the honourable Lieutenant Governor called us to prove the majority on the floor of the house.
We have to now take a call on that, I had a discussion with the Congress MLAs.
I'm discussing with DMK MLAs also.
Now on 21st we are going to meet again then we will decide our strategy," said Puducherry CM.
Chief Minister also added, "The opposition having elected 11 MLAs, 3 nominating MLAs have no voting rights because according to several judgement of the courts in the confidence motion have no voting right." As political turmoil rises in Puducherry, Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan ordered a floor test on February 22.
