Watch: How Raini villagers first warned people of Uttarakhand Glacier breach

Uttarakhand’s glacier breach on February 7 impacted Raini village on the banks of Rishi Ganga river.

Raini villagers were the first to warn people about the glacier breach.

The villagers narrated how warning systems at Rishi Ganga project site failed to trigger.

It was beyond their imagination to see a glacier burst during winters.

They said that they have seen glacier breach events in the past but a flashflood of this degree was unforeseen.

Over 100 people in Tapovan are still missing and feared dead.

Relatives of missing workers also informed that alarm system failed to trigger at Tapovan hydropower project site.
