Uttarakhand: Rescue ops intensified in Chamoli’s bigger tunnel | Updates

Rescue operation underway in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli after glacier burst led to flash flood.

ITBP jawans, NDRF teams, SDRF, and local Police have been deployed at several areas in flood affected areas.

Over 200 people are feared missing following the glacier burst.

ITBP and other teams rescued people from one tunnel and currently working on another one.

NDRF DG SN Pradhan said the focus is on the bigger tunnel where rescue operation is underway.

Earlier, Swati S Bhadauria, District Magistrate of Chamoli informed that 13 villages near the Reini Bridge have been affected.

She also said there were no casualty reported but several people are stranded there.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal was also present at Chamoli to review the situation.
