Heavy rain causes flash floods on roads in northeastern Thailand

Rainstorms hit northeastern Thailand causing flash floods today.

Footage shows flooded roads during the rush hour traffic in Bueng Kan province.

Cars were seen slowly driving along the submerged roads while motorcycle riders had to push their vehicles through the torrent.

In some parts the water was more than 2ft deep.

Flash floods have hit several countries in Southeast Asia including Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The region is currently experiencing its annual rainy season which lasts until September or October and sees strong downpours several times a week.
