Officials rescue elderly woman who jumped into 60-feet-deep well in northern India

Officials rescue a woman who jumped into water well following a quarrel with her daughter-in-law, in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place in Maswani area of Fatehpur district on June 18.

The woman, identified as Prema Devi, lived with her family after her husband Sarju Pal's passed away.

According to reports, the woman had an argument with her daughter-in-law.

It escalated to a situation that Prema Devi rushed out of the house and jumped into the nearby 60-feet-deep (18.28 metres) water well.

The locals and relatives alerted the fire brigade personnel and police officials rushed to the spot.

The video shows policemen and fire officials using a ladder to climb down the well.

An official is seen climbing down the well and coaxing the elderly woman to give up her anger and get back to her residence.

The trick works as the woman slowly approaches the ladder.

Following this, they bring the woman back to safety.

The condition of the woman is stable and she has been handed over to her family by the police officials.
