Firefighters rescue cow from 70-foot-deep well in southern India

A cow that fell into a 70-feet-deep (21.33 metres) well was rescued by firefighters in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Omalur of Salem district on June 16.

Visuals showed a firefighter getting into the well to tie ropes around the bovine's body.

The firefighters pulled out the cow from the well using thick ropes.

According to the reports, the cow was grazing in the field before it fell into the well.

On noticing the distressed animal, neighbours alerted the owner, Krishnan Palaniammal, who informed the firefighters.

The cow was immediately rescued from the well by the firefighters and was taken to a nearby veterinary hospital by its owner.
