A passenger train in Pakistan's southwestern province came under fire by Balochistan on Tuesday, which has left the driver with severe injuries, and over 450 passengers and staff are feared to have been taken hostage, local media reported.

Balochistan, Pakistan – A group of armed militants from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express train in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on March 11, 2025. The train, carrying approximately 500 passengers, was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar when it was ambushed in a remote tunnel in the Bolan district.
