Nearly 300 arrested in Syria crackdown on Assad loyalists: Monitor

A deadly ambush near Syria's Mediterranean port of Tartous resulted in 14 interior ministry personnel killed and 10 injured. The attack was attributed to loyalists of ousted President Bashar al-Assad. It occurred during an operation to apprehend a former officer linked to the notorious Saydnaya prison. Three loyalists also lost their lives in the clash. This comes weeks after rebel forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) ousted Assad, ending decades of family rule.
