The Kremlin has strongly refuted recent claims suggesting that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken in recent days, calling the reports "pure fiction." Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed the allegations, which had been reported by The Washington Post and Reuters, labelling them as a "complete lie." According to these reports, Trump had supposedly urged Putin not to escalate the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Peskov mocked the rumours, describing the information as "false" and criticised the quality of such reports being published by reputable outlets. He further stated that, as of now, there were no concrete plans for Putin to engage in talks with Trump, despite earlier reports hinting at potential discussions between the two leaders.
