Chinese company wins contract to print Nepal's new notes with revised map including Indian regions

Nepal Rastra Bank awarded a contract to a Chinese company to print new 100-rupee notes featuring Nepal's revised political map, including Indian territories. The Chinese firm will print and supply 300 million notes at a cost of $8.99 million. The updated map has strained India-Nepal relations since 2020.
