Devil gets stoned in Saudi Arabia
Pilgrims in Mina, Saudi Arabia, have ended this yearโ€™s Hajj in the traditional way, by stoning the Devil. The symbolic stoning of the devil marks the final days of Hajj and the start of Eid al-Adha. Despite the intense summer heat, 1.8 million pilgrims gathered for the stoning, with many facing difficulties due to the temperature. Some pilgrims, especially the elderly, fainted from the heat, requiring assistance from Saudi civil defense and medics. Fourteen Jordanian pilgrims died from sunstroke during the Hajj.
