A 102-year-old World War II veteran dies en route to D-Day commemorations

World War II Navy veteran Robert Persichitti, 102, died en route to France for the 80th D-Day anniversary. His friend, Rev. William Leone, shared his excitement for the trip. Persichitti passed away in Germany listening to Frank Sinatra. He served on the USS Eldorado and witnessed the raising of the US flag at Iwo Jima.
