France's Macron vows to restore calm in riot-hit New Caledonia
French President Macron says thousands of military reinforcements will be deployed to New Caledonia for "as long as necessary", as he vows to restore calm to the French overseas territory. Six people have been left dead and hundreds injured during separatist unrest in the country.
