'Neither region nor world can afford more war': UN chief at emergency meeting on Iran strikes

Over the weekend we all watched as Iran launched a large aerial attack from its soil at the nation of Israel. As I’ve reported previously Iran has always been behind its proxy militia forces and those groups actions are under the direction of Iran through the Iranian Republican Guard Corps, or IRGC. Iran’s actions this weekend finally ripped the mask off revealing for the rest of the world who is actually behind attacks like what happened on October 7 2023. Even though Iran says the attack was only in response to Israel’s attack on a building next to their embassy in Damascus, Syria, killing the top IRGC commander in the region who was directing Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad combat operations against Israel, the reality is now that Iran is out in the open in its war, its actions are a legal act of war against another country. The United States, United Kingdom, France, and Jordan openly defended Israel when they all used their Air and Naval Forces to shoot down a large portion of the more than 300 attacking drones, land attack cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, prompting Russia to threaten the United States not to attack Iran or it will enter the conflict. As Israel considers its response options the larger question is will China and Russia take any military action beyond their current positions, both aligned with Iran, when Israel responds? The risk of escalation to regional war and beyond is real and each must act appropriately.
