There is already a new unit on Yonaguni base consisting of about 50 personnel which became operational at a Ground Self-Defense Force (SDF). Why now? Whatโ€™s the plan? First quadruple military exercises in the South China Sea:The United States, Australia, Japan and the Philippines announced on Saturday their intention to hold the first joint naval and air military exercise in the waters of the disputed South China Sea, in what appeared to be a show of unity in the face of Chinese naval influence.
