French couple get suspended sentence over hoarding close to 160 cats

A French couple, who cohabited with nearly 160 cats and seven dogs in their apartment, were sentenced on Wednesday to a one-year suspended prison term and a lifelong prohibition on owning pets. The ruling from the Nice Criminal Court declared the man and woman culpable of abandonment, citing the animals' severe state of health.
