SpaceX postpones launch of intuitive machines Moon mission

The spacecraft, built by Intuitive Machines of Houston, is on top of the rocket on the launchpad. Weather conditions were favorable but a technical issue led to the delay of its flight by at least a day. The next attempt will be Thursday at 1:05am Eastern time.

A lunar lander crafted by Houston-based aerospace firm Intuitive Machines embarked on a historic journey from Florida early Thursday, aiming to achieve the first U.S. moon landing in over 50 years and the maiden touchdown by a privately owned spacecraft. Named Odysseus, the Nova-C lander took flight shortly after 1 a.m. EST atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Elon Musk's SpaceX at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.
