Israeli airstrikes targeted the Damascus airport and Syrian military sites. Syrian media reported the strikes occurring at 1:20 am local time, hitting multiple locations near Damascus and causing some material losses. The attack near the airport occurred a day after flights had resumed, following the airport being out of service since late November due to previous Israeli strikes. The latest airstrike did not cause damage to the airport. Israel has conducted numerous airstrikes in Syria since the start of the civil war in 2011, primarily targeting Iran-backed forces, including Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon, and Syrian army positions.
