Trump Gag Order , Reinstated in Fraud Case.
In early October, Judge Arthur Engoron issued a
gag order preventing Donald Trump from making comments about court staff, Fox News reports. .
Trump violated the order twice and was fined
a total of $15,000. Judge Engoron also
threatened him with imprisonment. .
But on Nov. 16, appeals court Judge
David Friedman lifted the gag order,
citing Trump's First Amendment rights.
In another turn of events, on Nov. 30, the gag order
was reinstated by a New York appellate court. .
Judge Engoron commented
on the development. .
I intend to enforce the gag orders
rigorously and vigorously. I want to make
sure that counsel informs their clients of
the fact that the stay was vacated, Judge Engoron, via statement.
Trumpโs attorney, Chris Kise, responded
by saying, โIt is a tragic day for the rule
of law, but weโre aware,โ CNN reports. .
โIt is what it is,โ Engoron said. .
Trump, who is being sued for allegedly
committing fraud by inflating his net worth
to attain better loans and insurance policies,
has consistently denied the charges.
He has also claimed that his net worth is
actually more than previously stated. .
