Brazil's President backtracks on his assurance of Putin not being arrested in next G20|Oneindia news
Just a day after Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva affirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be arrested if he attends the G-20 meeting in Brazil next year, he has now backtracked from his personal assurance. He has now said that it would be up to the judiciary to decide this. Furthermore, he also questioned Brazil’s membership in the United Nations war crimes court, saying that “emerging countries often sign things that are detrimental to them”. Putin missed this year’s G20 gathering in New Delhi, avoiding possible political opprobrium and any risk of criminal detention under an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant. #Vladimirputinarrest #Luladasilvabacktracks #Putinarrestwarranticc ~HT.178~PR.153~ED.155~
