Hurricane Lee has been rapidly intensifying and has been moving west across the open waters of the Atlantic. As of Thursday, Hurricane Lee was about 705 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands, which are in the northeastern Caribbean. According to reports, the storm was moving west-northwest at 14 miles per hour.
