Palestinian hunger striker dies in Israeli custody

Khader Adnan, who was a prominent figure in the militant Islamic Jihad group, started using prolonged hunger strikes as a means of protesting against Israel's practice of detaining Palestinians without charges or trials over a decade ago. On Tuesday, he became the first long-term hunger striker to die in Israeli custody.
