Roy Jones Jr. Confirms Mike Tyson Meant Jake Paul Slap: ‘That’s Mike, That’s Vintage Mike’
In a shocking turn of events at the weigh-in for their highly anticipated fight, legendary boxer Mike Tyson slapped YouTube-star-turned-boxer Jake Paul after Paul stepped on his toe. Just 24 hours before their showdown in the ring, Tyson stunned onlookers at the Toyota Music Factory in Las Colinas with the unexpected strike. Tyson later explained to the New York Post that he was in his socks when Paul, wearing shoes, stepped on his toe, prompting Tyson to react violently as he believed it was intentional.
Despite the slap, Jake Paul seemed unfazed and taunted Tyson, telling the media he didn’t even feel it and calling Tyson an "angry little elf." Paul continued to mock Tyson on social media, posting about the incident and expressing excitement over being slapped by the boxing legend.
The weigh-in drama, witnessed by Tyson's longtime friend Tom Patti, who defended Tyson's reaction, only intensified the tension between the fighters, with boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. expressing approval of Tyson's seriousness and aggression ahead of their November 15th main event, live on Netflix.
