Manipur reimposes mobile internet ban till October 1

Mobile internet services have been suspended yet again in Manipur, this time for five days, as per orders given by the governor. Schools will also remain shut till Friday after 45 students were injured during protests.

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday announced that the internet ban will be lifted in the state from today. The state government had imposed a ban on internet services in some districts of the strife-torn state after the ethnic clashes first erupted on May 3.
