The Congress on Thursday slammed the Centre after a May 4 video showing two women being paraded naked by some men in Manipur surfaced and asked when will the Narendra Modi government stop acting like "all is well". The party also sought to know when will Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh be replaced.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed deep shock and sorrow regarding a distressing video from Manipur, condemning the heinous act and ensuring that the culprits will face the full force of the law. He firmly stated that such dark and abhorrent deeds have no place in our society, and those responsible will not escape justice. As the Monsoon session approaches, PM Modi assured the nation that justice will be served, asserting that the mistreatment of the daughters of Manipur is unforgivable. He also urged state chiefs to prioritize the safety and security of women. But Congress was not happy with the PM's response. Before the start of the parliamentary session today, PM Modi delivered an 8-minute and 25-second speech. In this address, PM Modi spoke only 36 seconds about Manipur, and then shifted to politics in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh., said Supriya Shrinate.
