BYD Super e-Platform
BYD, the global leader in plug-in and battery electric vehicles, introduces a revolutionary new electric vehicle platform that matches the charging speed of electric vehicles with the refueling speed of combustion engine vehicles.
Called the Super e-Platform, the new architecture introduces a series of innovative technologies that set world records in the mass-produced electric vehicle ecosystem.
The core electrical components of the Super e-Platform—motor, control electronics, and battery—have been comprehensively improved compared to existing configurations.
The new platform achieves a maximum charging power of one megawatt (1,000 kW), the highest for mass-produced vehicles.
In practical terms, this means the Super e-Platform can add two kilometers of range per second, achieving the fastest charging speed in the world, recovering 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes of charging.
The architecture features a single motor with an output of 580 kW/789 hp, which in the two initial production models, the HAN L and the TANG L—initially intended for the Chinese market—allows them to reach a top speed of over 300 km/h.
This top speed and impressive acceleration are achieved thanks to a new motor capable of operating at speeds of up to 30,000 rpm, another new benchmark for series-production electric vehicles.
