V Narayanan, LPSC director, to succeed S Somanath as ISRO Chairman on January 14, 2025

V Narayanan, a distinguished scientist and director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, has been appointed as the new Chairman of ISRO, succeeding S Somanath.

With over three decades at ISRO, Narayanan played a pivotal role in developing India's cryogenic engine technology.

He will officially assume his position on January 14, 2025, guiding ISRO through its ambitious future projects, including the Gaganyaan mission and a planned manned moon mission by 2040.
