The video also captures individuals removing and striking down a portrait of Bashar al-Assad amid celebrations marking the capital’s fall to opposition forces.

The rebels, led by Islamist factions, declared Damascus "liberated" after their lightning offensive forced Bashar al-Assad to flee.

This marks the end of over five decades of Baath rule, with calls for citizens abroad to return to a "free Syria." Tensions continue to escalate as the regime’s collapse reshapes the nation’s political future.
