Minister admits winter fuel cut was a 'tough call'

The energy minister has admitted the winter fuel payment cut was a "tough call" by the chancellor.

Miatta Fahnbulleh urged pensioners struggling with their energy bills to get in touch with their suppliers.

"We announced yesterday that there will be ยฃ500 million worth of support available to people this winter.

I know people are worried about their energy bills this winter - please pick up the phone and speak to your supplier," she said.
