Yahya Sinwar Wore Clothes Sewn From UN Food Sacks As A Kid | How He Rose and Become Hamas’ Leader?

Yahya Sinwar, the recently killed leader of Hamas, had a challenging upbringing in the Gaza Strip that shaped his identity and ideology.

Born in 1962 in a refugee camp, he experienced poverty firsthand, often wearing clothes sewn from UN food sacks.

This early hardship instilled in him a strong sense of resilience and determination.

Sinwar's journey into militant leadership began in his youth, where he became involved in Palestinian resistance efforts.

He was arrested multiple times for his activities against Israeli occupation, spending 22 years in Israeli prisons.

His time in prison helped solidify his beliefs and sharpen his leadership skills.

Upon his release as part of a prisoner swap in 2011, he quickly rose through the ranks of Hamas, ultimately becoming the group's leader in Gaza in 2017.
