Home Secretary launches furious tirade against summer riots

The home secretary lashed out at the summer rioters during a speech at the Labour conference in Liverpool.

Yvette Cooper condemned the riots which took place following the Southport stabbings which claimed the lives of three children.

"Don't anyone tell me that was protest.

It was arson, it was racism, it was thuggery, it was crime," she said.
