Farage: Election campaign hijacked by ‘loopy’ candidates

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, stated that the party’s general election campaign was severely impacted by the controversy surrounding several of its candidates.

He described some of the candidates as “at best loopy and at worst extremely racist,” and acknowledged that this did “enormous harm” to the party’s chances.

Farage estimated that around 20 problematic candidates may have cost the party up to 1.5 million votes, stressing the importance of better candidate selection in the future.
