Davey thanks candidates who lost in election

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has thanked candidates who did not win in the election for their work during the campaign.

In his keynote speech, he told the party's autumn conference that he wanted to "shine a spotlight" on a group "whose contribution to our success isn't recognised as much as it should be".
