Councillor says wife’s hate messages were out of character

Conservative Councillor Raymond Connolly says social media messages sent by his wife which stirred up racial hatred were out of character, insisting “she is not that person”.

Lucy Connolly pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to a charge of inciting racial hatred by publishing and distributing "threatening or abusive" written material on X, formerly Twitter.
