PM Modi On Kolkata Hospital Horror: ‘Crimes Against Women Unforgivable, Tough Action'
In a forceful statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the recent Rape and Murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, declaring that "crimes against women are unforgivable" and vowing strict action against perpetrators.
Speaking at the 'Lakhpati Didi Sammelan' in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, Modi condemned the horrific incident, which has triggered nationwide protests and a contentious political debate over women's safety.
He emphasised his government's commitment to enhancing legal measures and enforcing severe penalties for such crimes.
Modi also highlighted significant achievements in supporting women, noting a substantial increase in loans to women self-help groups over the past decade and urging continued support for the BJP-led government to ensure stability and growth.
