After five decades in American politics, President Joe Biden has officially ended his 2024 presidential re-election campaign.

The announcement was released in an official statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing 'It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President.

And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.'

The President has since announced his support for current Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee in this year's race.

Her passing was announced in a statement on social media, released by her former producer and co-writer Ian Levine, writing 'It is hard for me to accept that my lifelong protege really has left us.

Her music will outlive all of us.'

A cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Sean Kingston and mom Janice Turner indicted on federal charges over fraud scheme, each facing decades behind bars.
